Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 vs Note 3: The Best Phablet Is…

When it comes to phablets, Samsung is the brand that comes to mind. The Korean company offers the best large smartphones such as the Galaxy Note 3. There is also the Galaxy Mega 6.3 which enjoyed a highly successful launch as well. However, which of them is the better device?

Looking at the display, the Note 3 arrived with a 5.7” screen that offers 386ppi. This is so much sharper than the 233ppi offered by the Mega’s larger 6.3” display. Furthermore, the larger screen means that the 3200mAh battery will drain faster on the Mega than on the Note 3.

Underneath the casings, the latter runs on the latest 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 with 3GB of RAM. The Mega runs on the on the Snapdragon 400 processor with 1.5GB of RAM, which is not as fast as those on the Note 3.

Out of the box, the Mega operates on the older Android 4.2.2 Jellybean. The Note 3 runs on the latest Android 4.4 KitKat OS.

By far, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is the better of the two. Then again, it is also important to note that the phablet is priced at $545. The Galaxy Mega is much cheaper at $415. Is the $130 extra fee worth it? You decide.
