Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 vs Note 3: One Brand, Two Phablets

Samsung might be clueless on how to produce a premium smartphone but they are certainly the best in offering a powerful phablet. The latest Galaxy Note 3 is a perfect example of a powerful phablet but is it better than the newer Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3?

In terms of display, the Note 3 sports a 5.7” screen that offers 386ppi. This is so much sharper than the Mega’s larger 6.3” 233ppi screen. In addition to that, the larger screen on the Mega would mean that the 3200mAh battery will drain faster. The Note 3 has a similar battery capacity.

The Mega runs on the Snapdragon 400 processor with 1.5GB RAM. Again, this is nowhere near as good as what is being offered on the Note 3. The latter runs on the 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 processor with 3GB RAM.

Despite being slightly newer than the Note 3, the Mega is still cheaper with its $415 price tag. This is not surprising as the device is nothing more than a mid-tier phablet. Obviously, the winner is the $545 Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
