Samsung has just released the Galaxy Note 3 and it is undoubtedly the best phablet the world has ever seen. This isn’t surprising as the company from Korea has always produced superb phablet and the slightly older Galaxy Mega 6.3 is a perfect example of it. Today we shall see if the latter has got what it takes to challenge the newer Note 3.
In terms of pricing, the Note 3 cost $545, which is much more expensive than the $415 price tag on the Galaxy Mega 6.3. However, the Note 3 has a smaller 5.7” display that produces 386ppi. The Mega has a large 6.3” screen but its pixel count is only at 233ppu, which is not as sharp as the Note 3.
The larger screen on the Mega will also drain its 3200mAh battery faster. The Note 3 appears to have the same battery capacity with the Mega. Even on performance, the Note 3 is faster than the Mega. This is thanks to the newer 2.3GHz 800 processor with 3GB of RAM. The Mega runs on the Snapdragon 400 processor with 1.5GB RAM.
This is a mismatch from the very beginning as the Note 3 is far more superior to the Mega in every way. The latter seems to be nothing more than a mid-tier phablet, which is unique in its own ways.
