Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 vs LG G2: Which Is More Worth It?

Samsung has always been at the top of the chain when it comes to producing powerful phablets. The Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 has proved itself to be a reliable device that comes with a cheap price tag. However, is the phablet able to overpower the LG G2?

When it comes to display, the Mega comes with a large 6.3” panel that runs at 233ppi. While it may be decent, the Mega’s large screen is nowhere near as sharp as the 423ppi produced by the G2’s 5.2” screen.

Furthermore, a larger screen means more power is needed to operate the device. In other words, the Mega might come with a larger 3200mAh battery but it cannot outlast the 3000mAh power source on the G2.

Under the case, the G2 sprints past the Mega as it runs on the 2.2GHz Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB RAM and Adreno 330 GPU. The latter is powered by the 1.7GHz Snapdragon 400 processor with 1.5GB RAM and Adreno 305 GPU. For a newer phone, the hardwares on the Mega are somewhat outdated.

Even on cameras, the older G2 has a 13MP rear and 2.1MP front shooter. Again, this is so much better than the 8MP rear and 1.9MP front cameras being offered by the Mega 6.3.

The only perks to getting the Mega 6.3 is with its microSD card support of up to 64GB. The G2 is only limited to 16GB of internal memory.

Then again, this is not enough to stop the G2 from claiming victory. The latter retails at only $380, which is also cheaper than the $395 price tag on the Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3.
