The Macan was first seen at the LA Auto Show last year and Malaysia isn’t going to be too late in getting it. The Macan is to be parked in Malaysia in Q4 and it is thought that it will be during September.
The Macan has been called the first sportscar to fall in the SUV compact category and it will enter into the Malaysian autom matker with a 2.0 litre turbo four engine which offers 237bhp and 350Nm of torque. Power output is 0 to 100km/h in 6.9 seconds and it has a top speed of 223km/h.
As it has been dubbed a luxurious SUV like the Macan, it is somewhat of a surprise to find it achieving 100km with 7.2 litres of petrol; however this is the NEDC combined cycle.
This has been based around the entry level specs. The performance will of course improve with the Macan S and the Macan S diesel. The former will come equipped with the 3.0 V6 bitturbo and this can offer 340bhp along with 460Nm, o to 100 km/h in just 5.4 seconds and reach a top speed of around 254km/h. The latter will be the 3.0 V6 biturbo and it should offer 245bhp along with 580Nm and reach 100 in 6.3 seconds. Bear in mind that the important factor is the amount of fuel used, this came in at 6.3 litres per 100km.
The top end Porsche Macan Turbo offers the new 3.6 litre V6 biturbo engine, which offers 400bhp, 550Nm, reaches 100km in 4.8 seconds and has a top speed of 266km/h.
The four variants will come in with price tags of RM450k, RM560k, RM550k and RM780k respectively.
