The latest Android 4.4.4 KitKat has put the hackers hard at work in developing a root version out of it and today, it is finally available. Created by the AOKP team, the Nightly KitKat build is now available for the OnePlus One and the Sony Xperia Z2.
Unlike previous custom ROMs from AOKP, the Nightly KitKat OS brought back call back features as it comes together with loads of device specific updates, bug fixes, tweaked apps, some battery life enhancements, translation updates, and more.
To install the Nightly KitKat, one is required to perform the basic rooting procedure and install a custom Recovery. It will be used to flash the new ROM builds. Besides that, the ROM file will be needed to install Gapps, too. It is a complicated process overall and for those with zero experience should stay away from doing so.
The best part about the Nightly KitKat is that it removes the bloatware that are inserted by the carrier and device’s manufacturer. With it, Z2 and OnePlus One users will get full ownership of their device.
