Tyres are a crucial component on a car. Aside from the fact that they are the legs of the vehicle, a good tyre can also save drivers fortunes by ensuring better efficiency and handling. On the other hand, a bad tyre can be the cause of fatality on the driver and passengers.

There is a lot of talk on nitrogen being better than normal air. Well, there is no wrong to that statement as motorsport vehicles actually utilized nitrogen as it ensures consistent pressure throughout the race. On top of that, nitrogen gas weighs at 14g/mol, which is lighter than normal air. The latter weighs 28.97g/mol on average.
Another thing to note is that nitrogen has less water vapour when compared to normal air. Water Vapour is an important factor as it determines on how consistent the tyre pressure will be. A hot tyre can have and increased pressure on normal air.
Obviously, nitrogen is the better option. However, it is not a necessary application to a street car. The differences between nitrogen and normal air on an average sedan is simply too scarce to share. There isn’t any improved fuel consumption but the pressure does remain consistent throughout.
Furthermore, it is super hard to find a place where drivers can fill up their tyres with nitrogen. The gas is simply rare to come by.
Bottom line is that drivers don’t have to worry about the gas inside their tyres. As long as the pressure is checked and maintained consistently, there shouldn’t be any problem at all.
