The Mitsubishi new SUV concept XR-PHEV II was shown at the Geneva Motor Show but this isn’t a completely new car, more like a rework of the earlier version of the XR-PHEV which we saw at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show. It does happen to look rather like a Lexus NX designed in mid-sneeze and the design is being readied for its debut on the roads.
The Mitsubishi SUV concept XR-PHEV II may look a lot like the predecessor but this is not as close to production as the earlier model. The grille along with the hood has openings which allow the vehicle to cool the plug-in hybrid system. Another bonus is that the cabin on the latest concept looks functional and the vehicle has orange upholstery that is certainly eye catching.
The powertrain remains something of a mystery. The front-wheel drive has power from a 12-kWh battery which gives 160 horses. But we don’t have a clue about the internal combustion engine or its transmission. The company are putting a lot of confidence in the Mitusbishi new SUV concept and the design is something that is going to be seen on crossovers in the future.
