Mitsubishi has been on a decline over the past decade but after looking at the Outlander PHEV, it seems that the Japanese carmaker is returning back to its glory days. The PHEV, also known as the Outlander Facelift, is due to arrive early next year and it carries a lot of promises.
Mitsubishi has already shared the concept images for the vehicle and they do look beautiful. The face of the car features a large X-shaped grille where the top half consists of chrome bars while the bottom half are coated in black.
In addition to that, there are no longer lines to split the side fender and the bumper. This concludes to an overall clean design that should appeal to the masses.
The icing on the cake is with the Outlander PHEV’s interior. The Black and Burgundy theme is simply too beautiful to ignore. It gives off a luxury ambience in the cabin with a super neat button layout on the central dashboard. Also, every compartments is finished with silver borders that sooth the eyes.
Under the hood, Mitsubishi will be equipping the Outlander PHEV with a 12kWh lithium ion battery. This is supported by a 2L 4-cylinder DOHC MIVEC engine that completes the overall hybrid powertrain.
