For the eighth month in a row, Mitsubishi has recorded year-over-year sales gain. This is a welcoming sight as Mitsubishi has fallen out of favour after killing off the Evo badge that the company is famous for.
Mitsubishi announced that they manage to sell a total of 6,199 units in October last month. This is a whopping 30.5% improvement from the previous sales recorded in October last year. Most of the sales consist of the new Mirage and Outlander Sport.
Mitsubishi Motors North America Executive Vice President, Don Swearingen, revealed that the Outlander Sport has been the leading the sales. Also, Don applauded the Lancer and Mirage for being able to sell well despite being among the most underrated vehicles around.
The Lancer, in particular, was the most surprising of them all. Sales for the sedan increased by a whopping 17.5% from October last year. The Lancer Evo, on the other hand, increased by 10.5%. Then again, it is the Outlander Sport that sells best.
With Mitsubishi developing the Outlander PHEV due next year, we can expect a turnaround for the once great Japanese carmaker. On the plus side, the competition will surely get hotter with Mitsubishi around.
