Mazda Diverts Attention From Street-Legal Vehicles To Monstrous MX-5 For The Track

A couple of weeks ago, Mazda revealed that it will make a racing version of the all-new MX-5 and the car is going to compete in the global cup racing series. Staying true to its words, Mazda did just that and today, we have got more details on the vehicle.

While it may not be officially announced by Mazda, it is possible to see the 2016 MX-5 running on a four-cylinder 2.0-liter SKYACTIV-G engine. After all, the roadster is aiming to play on the track when it makes its debut in 2016.

Of course, we can expect more to be reveal in the coming weeks like the tires, suspension, powertrain, safety as well as the necessary equipment and technical partners coming with the track-only MX-5.
