Mazda lovers here in the US must be really bummed out after hearing the latest announcement from the Japanese carmaker. In case you are unaware, Mazda shared that they won’t be distributing the latest Mazda 2 in this country.
Unfortunately, Mazda didn’t give us any explanations on their latest decision and this makes it all the more disappointing. Then again, this is not the end of the world as there is still a chance for the Mazda 2 to make its debut in the US.
It was teased that the compact crossover will still be shipped to the US but rebadged as the Scion iA. However, the iA will only be about 90% identical to the Mazda 2 and this is because Scion has decided to make some minor changes to the vehicle’s design.
The great news is that the changes are too subtle to notice so you don’t have to worry about it one bit. The Scion iA is tipped to be making its debut in Q4 this year.
