Earlier this year, Samsung released the all-new Galaxy S5 and it is touted as the best smartphone ever. However, the S5 soon meet its match after LG released the G3. Both devices are near similar with their price tag but which is the better device?
Putting both the G3 and S5 side-by-side, the first major difference one can spot is the size. The G3 is obviously larger as it comes with a 5.5” screen that offers 538ppi. Amazingly, this is also 25% sharper than the 432ppi produced by the S5’s smaller 5.1” screen.
Of course, being larger has its drawback and in the G3’s case, it is the battery life. The device has a large 3000mAh power supply but the large screen drains the battery faster than the S5.
Under the hood, both flagship devices from South Korea are on par as they run on the 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 processor with Adreno 330 GPU. Of course, the G3 keeps ahead of the S5 as it has 3GB of RAM. The latter only has 2GB.
In terms of photography however, it is the S5 that is better equipped as it offers a sharper 16MP rear and 2.1MP front cameras. The G3 is stuck with the 13MP rear and 2.1MP front camera. Regardless, both devices are able to snap videos at 4K resolution.
While the G3 might enjoy better hardwares and built quality, it appears that the S5 has more to offer. The latter comes with a fingerprint scanner and heart rate monitor, while also being both water and dust proof.
For us, it is hard to name a winner in this super tight contest that we have decided to leave the decision to you. If you prefer a crystal clear display with faster specs, then the G3 is for you. Otherwise, the S5 is the safe bet.
