Lately, there is a lot of buzz and rumours on Ford developing the next-generation Bronco. The latter is a famous name back in the mid-90s but after a series of unfortunate events, the off-road SUV got discontinued. Despite that fact, its popularity remains intact, even until today.
Now, the question is that will Ford produce the Bronco? In all of honesty, we don’t feel that it is happening anytime soon. The Bronco represents pure ruthless power and Ford today is in the direction of fuel optimization and efficiency.
Just by looking at the Ford Escape and Explorer, both SUVs have been mildly refreshed with more power cuts to improve on efficiency. The old and powerful V8 has been axed and replaced with something less extravagant.
Then again, the Bronco still sounds possible if things are viewed from a different angle. For starters, close rival GMC is rumoured to be producing an all-new SUV called the Canyon. Also, the Jeep Wrangler has been selling well due to the small competition in its segment. If Ford wishes to compete, the Bronco will be the perfect solution to obliterate its rivals.
Then, there are the talks on how the Bronco can be the perfect replacement for the F-150 Raptor. Rumours suggest that the Raptor is about to reach an end in its production and will be replaced by the Bronco. This is possible as the engines on the F-150 can all do well on a Bronco.
On the other hand, some new suggestions revealed that it is better if the Bronco moniker is used like the Raptor or SVT. Instead of being a new model, the Bronco will just be a trim level with its own set of offerings. Both the Raptor and SVT have their own specific representation and the Bronco could be added to that list. Of course, the latter will represent power and off-road prowess.
In short, the status of the Ford Bronco is still a mystery to us all. There is no certainty on whether it is being developed or not, by Ford. Regardless, we have the feeling that the Bronco will get revived in the future to come.
