Over at South Korea, there has yet to be a homemade pickup truck. This is despite of Hyundai’s and Kia’s growing presence in the global automotive industry. We are not sure about Kia but Hyundai, in particular, is showing signs of interest in creating the nation’s first pickup truck.
The company’s head of sales, Lee In-cheol, acknowledged the fact that Hyundai does not have a pickup truck but this will soon change. The lad revealed that they are currently brainstorming on the sort of pickup truck they want to produce.
On the downside of things, Lee failed to share on when the pickup truck will be ready for development. The fellow did reveal that the company is in a dilemma in deciding whether between a compact pickup truck and a large pickup truck.
Regardless, some rumours are already hinting that the pickup truck from Hyundai will actually be based on the latest Santa Fe. The word is that Hyundai will take the Santa Fe and replace the rear doors with a long bed that stretches far behind.
