It seems that many thousands of gamers on the PC have been downloading large files under the impression that they are downloading a playable game of GTA 5 for their PC. They have then found out that they have been exposed to bugs and viruses.
While GTA 5 has been released, it has only been released for the Xbox 360 and PS3. At the moment there is no indication by Rockstar that it will come to the PC and it’s certainly not available yet.
However some PC gamers cannot wait it seems and they will clutch at any straw to get the game on the PC, even if the results of this are devastating.
It seems that several readers of the blog, along with many thousands of other people, have been downloading Torrent files from Torrent sites, which have promised to offer GTA 5 for the PC.
Gamers who have search Google have found a listing near the top of search results which takes them to an 18GB file. This download does come with an installer that looks to be the real deal, however nothing good comes from it and certainly not GTA 5.
Upon running the setup.exe file the victim is barraged with spyware and malware.
There is now an online petition calling for Rockstar to launch GTA 5 on the PC and this has now gained more than 613,000 names.
