Automaker Ford has announced a pair of recalls – the first being a recall of 450,000 Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan sedans, and the second recall is for 13 F-650 trucks – both of which are critical safety issues.
The first recall was implemented so that Ford could repair the possible malfunction of the canister purge valve in the fuel tank. This could lead to the cracking of the top of the tank and causing fuel to leak. And when that happens, that could cause a fire, but reports have it that Ford isn’t aware of any accidents and whatnot that’s resulting from the issue. The affected F-650 trucks will see the possibility of the column shifter’s park position mechanism being fractured, causing the truck to roll unexpectedly.
With Ford’s issue of a safety recall, dealers of both the recalled cars will inspect and repair them if necessary, and with no cost to the customer. Then again, it’s probably their fault so customers really shouldn’t have anything to worry about. But if you were given a choice now, would you still pick the Ford Fusion, Mercury Milan and the F-650 trucks? Think again.
