Feedback: Electric Or Hybrid Car For UK Drivers

Over half of UK drivers are considering on changing to hybrid and electric cars, new research reveals as the diesel cars continue to make headlines in the news for the inappropriate reasons. The Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) found that 53% drivers who are planning to buy a car in the next two years prefer the electric or hybrid vehicles as their subsequent car.

Plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) and nee electric buyers are eligible for the £5,000 Plug-in Car Grant under the Government incentive scheme to encourage uptake. But, motorists who make the change could face maintenance and repair delays in the future, as only 2% of 17, 000 qualified vehicle technicians in UK are trained to work on hybrid and electric cars.

The IMI believes that the government has to produce a licence-to-practice for technicians working on the cars. This is none other than to increase the number of skilled technicians qualified to work on hybrid and electric cars.

Good job UK motorists for their effort to make the world a better place, and support the use of hybrid or electric cars. If they can do it, we can too.
