Both the Dodge Viper and Jeep Wrangler are being recalled due to an issue with the gearbox that prevents the cars from starting up. To be precise, the problem lies with the clutch ignition interlock switches which can’t free the gears when the pedal is stepped on.
This has resulted in many Viper and Wrangler owners being shocked when their car launched itself after they attempted to start the vehicle with a gear engaged. The issue is known to affect only manual-powered variants of the Dodge Viper and Jeep Wrangler.
Owners of the aforementioned vehicles can already start sending their cars to the nearest service centre and get the issue fixed for free. Otherwise, the only way to start the Viper and Wrangler is through putting the gear stick on free.
