The Dacia Duster has always been a cheap escape for consumers that are looking for a reliable, practical and decently-powered SUV. Now, Dacia has launched a new engine for the Duster and it will see the vehicle getting more power.
In detail, the Duster can now run on a 1.2L TCe 125 motor that is designed to run on the AWD system. The new engine is also compatible with standard high-end features like Start/Stop technology. Together with a braking energy recovery system, the Duster is truly a fuel saver.
For Dacia, the new motor enables the Duster to perform like an average 2L naturally aspirated unit. This is accomplished thanks to the turbocharged component that develops a peak 123hp and 151ft-lbs of torque.
The 1.2L Duster will pump the power through a 6-speed manual transmission while also returning an EPA fuel rating average of 6.4L/100km.
If there is a downside with the Dacia Duster, it will have to be with the lack of colour options. The Duster is painted in Cosmos Blue only to reflect on the company’s colour code.
