Chevy Colorado ZR2: The 2.8L Duramax Variant That Everyone Has Been Waiting For

Just a month ago, Chevrolet launched the all-new Colorado pickup-truck. The vehicle is simply a work of art as it boasts a nice design, while also offering a great performance and probably the best fuel consumption figures in its segment. Also, Chevy took the opportunity to tease on a 2.8L Duramax turbo-diesel variant coming in the future.

Well, the world can already glimpse at that future as Chevy has already unveiled the Colorado ZR2 Concept last week at the annual LA Auto Show. The study is powered by the aforementioned engine, which generates 181hp and 369lb-fts of torque, while being mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The Z72 is described as the ideal vehicle to drive on even when there are no roads left. Also, Chevy claims that the Z72 Concept is part of the exploration in seeking out every possibility with the all-new Colorado.

Despite that fact, car junkies are already pleased with the Z72’s design, which is slightly tweaked from the original Colorado. The truck sports new bumpers, electronic-locking-differentials front and rear, flared fenders, coil-over shock-absorbers and beefy off-road tires.
