As good as the X4 M may sound, it appears to have suffered a setback in production, hence pushing the expected time of arrival further behind. President of the BMW M-division, Dr Friedrich Nitschke, confirmed that the X4 M has suffered a delay as a result of constraints with the engineering resources.
On the other hand, Nitschke revealed that all is fine for the X5 M and the X6 M vehicles. Both of them are anticipated for a release next year.
This is disappointing for the fans as they can’t wait to try the X4 M, which will be equipped with a different single-turbo in-line 6-cylinder instead of the usual M3/M4 twin-turbo in-line 6-cylinder. Of course, the engine is still being developed with the M2 and will be able to produce 275kW.
Nevertheless, it will rain SUVs in the decade ahead for BMW as the X7 is also in the plans. All in all, the X4 M is one of the most wanted vehicles in the making fans can’t wait to get their hands on it.
