We saw the BMW i8 Spyder concept a few years ago and now it looks like BMW might be ready to take the jump as reports suggest that BMW might be thinking about sending the BMW I8 Spyder into production.
Automotive News reported that the BMW i8 Spyder production model is not that far away. However, with so many automakers working on new production models for this segment, the comp[etition is going to be tight when BMW is finally ready to release it.
The concept we saw came with a removable roof panel, but some people are speculating that BMW might replace it with an auto roof when the production model arrives. It is also believed that BMW might be working on a new 2.0-liter turbo four engine that will be delivering about 450hp and that it could be what they will use to power up the BMW i8 Spyder.
