We don’t know whether the news is true or not, but rumor has it that BMW is planning on producing the 9-Series Coupe. BMW is considering a range-topping coupe, to outdo its rival, Mercedes Benz’s S-Class Coupe or better known as the CL-Class.
The upcoming model is said to be built using the next-generation Rolls-Royce Phantom as its base and come out with a modified version. The BMW 9-series will be quite huge, but lighter in weight since the car will be made from aluminium, carbon fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP), and ultra-high-tensile steel. The BMW 9-Series’ design is also rumoured to be based on the 2016 BMW 7-Series and the Vision Future Luxury Concept.
The BMW 9-Series comes with two 3.0-liter straight six-engines, gasoline-powered and diesel-powered engine. Midrange models on the other hand will have a twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 or a V12. The 940e, which is a gasoline-electric hybrid, is going to be offered.
We don’t know about you, but we think that the BMW 9-Series will make its own mark when it hits the market later with the high quality materials and trims. The carmaker has not yet said anything regarding the specs, but they don’t deny it either. So, customers can expect the 9-Series to come out as reported or something alike.
