If you are a BMW fan, then we hope you can excuse the title that is aimed at the German carmaker. We don’t like being to direct with our criticism but the new 1-Series forced us to do so.
Before we get to the sour department, we wish to highlight that the BMW did well in making the Facelift model more proportioned with its measurement. It does help make the 1-Series look better than it was.
As for the criticism, it is with the subtle design changes on the 1-Series Facelift. If you are to check out the image above, the vehicle looks no different from its predecessor. This basically defeats the purpose of calling it a Facelift as that requires a massive design refresh.
Unfortunately, the term facelift does not translate well for BMW. Almost every other BMW facelift before this tends to carry no significant design changes at all. Perhaps, BMW should look at Mercedes-Benz to understand what facelift truly means.
