It is no secret that Audi is looking to upsize their luxuries by producing the all-new A9, which will be seating above the A8 saloon. The A9 was the subject of many teases and hints over the last couple of months.
Earlier today, Audi stole the spotlight yet again as it teases on the A9 saloon. However, this time, Audi launched a short teaser clip on the A9’s concept. Perhaps, the German carmaker couldn’t hold their excitement any longer and decided to prematurely give a small glimpse on what is to come with the A9.
After all, the upcoming car has already been confirmed to get its curtains opened during the annual LA Auto Show that will be happening at the end of this month. Upon watching the video, we were left sweating in excitement.
Audi revealed that the concept is created with the aid of new big-name signing, Marc Lichte. The lad holds the chief designer position and he explained that the A9 is inspired by the Audi 90 quattro IMSA GTO and the first-gen A8 and TT coupe.
Rumours have been suggesting that the A9 will be releasing in 2019 but at the rate development is progressing, we may well see the vehicle making its debut in 2016.
Also, the word is that the A9 will be powered by a V8 4.0-liter twin-turbo with 600 bhp (447 kW). Of course, this will all be confirmed when the A9 gets officially unveiled at this year’s LA Auto Show.
