Besides Chevrolet and Toyota, Aston Martin is also following the other carmakers’ steps in producing electric cars. The 102-year-old luxury car brand promises and all-electric vehicle, that is known for its super-fast, super-sleek traditionally British cars that make it to the big screen as Agent 007’s favourite supercar.
Aston Martin’s first all-electric car will meet those standards; four-door, high-performance Rapide sports car. Aston Martin CEO Andy Palmer, said that the company’s first electric vehicle will live up to Aston Martin’s tradition of performance and power.
The electric Aston Martin car is said to be between 800 and 1, 000 horsepower. In comparison, the 2015 Rapide has 552 horsepower, with 203 mph topspeed and 4.2 seconds sprint time. Meanwhile, the Tesla Roadster, the first fully sports car launched in 2008, comes with 302 horsepower and goes 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds, with top speed of 125 mph.
If you’re wondering when can you have a look at this Aston Martin electric car, this model will roll off the production line by the end of 2017, followed by an electric version of the DBX crossover that the company introduced at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year.
