Aston Martin Avoiding Courtroom War With Porsche Over Naming Issues

If you have followed the recent Geneva Motor Show, then you must know about the Aston Martin Vantage GT3. Back at the event, everyone was pleased with how Aston Martin crafted the vehicle but not Porsche.

The German luxury carmaker was furious with how Aston Martin relentless utilized the name ‘GT3’ with their vehicle when it belongs to Porsche. So instead of keeping quiet on the matter, Porsche was busy contacting its lawyers to prepare a lawsuit.

Aston Martin was made aware of the situation but they adopted that ‘gentleman’ attitude through renaming their vehicle instead of going into a courtroom brawl. As of today, the Vantage GT3 is now known as the Vantage GT12.

In reality, Aston Martin has actually a huge change in beating Porsche in the courtroom. After doing a bit of research, the GT3 name has existed long before Porsche utilized it back in 1999. Heck, the GT3 is also the name of Aston Martin vehicles in the motorsport industry.

Porsche is clearly delusional in thinking that GT3 is fully owned by them but thankfully for the German carmaker, Aston Martin couldn’t be bothered to get into a tussle. Perhaps, Aston Martin should mess around with Porsche by renaming the vehicle to the Vantage GT4-1 or GT2+1.
