In recent years, Alpine has been identified as a company that develop automotive parts and also offers tuning services. However, if one is to look at Alpine’s history, it started off as France’s leading performance vehicle badge.
Now, it seems like Renault is interested to bring Alpine back to its glory days. Renault has made the first move by picking Alpine up and the carmaker is already funding the latter’s first ever vehicle in a long time.
Tentatively known as the Alpine Sport 1, the vehicle is tipped to be a lightweight, two-seat sports car for 2016. Heck, Renault even shared that they desire for the AS1 to come with a hybrid trim.
While it all sounds great, many are probably wondering on how big Alpine will be? Well, Renault claims that Alpine will be rivalling Porsche and Audi.
