Earlier this year, Honda launched the next-generation Fit and it is one of the bestselling hatchbacks around. However, the success of the Fit suffered a hiccup after Honda announced on a mass recall for the vehicle last week, due to a suspect faulty mechanism.
In detail, the Honda Fit’s A-pillar interior cover is wrongly fitted, thus, putting the drivers at risk of injuries or death as the issue could affect the deployment of the side curtain airbags.
A total of 6,000 owners of the Honda Fit that was manufactured from April 11 to June 9 has been notified of the recall. Owners should take their car up for inspection at the nearest Honda service centre. If the problem exists, Honda will replace the A-Pillar cover for free.
If you are a Honda Fit owner and are unclear on the above, you can reach out to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration through dialling 800-999-1009.
