German automaker Mercedes-Benz has recently joined in the bandwagon of bringing in a brand new attribute: the remote parking system. It bears a striking resemblance to that of the S-class, but with the latest addition that’s derived from the modular MRA platform, it will stand out on its own. It’s also going to be very lightweight especially in terms of its chassis and its engine.
This system is called the autonomous Park Pilot, though the feature is actually the same as that of the BMW 7 Series, and allows drivers to park their car via a remote control. And how it all works is that apparently, there’ll be a smartphone app called “Mercedes connect me”, that will control the whole parking process.
In addition, the E-class luxury sedan will also sport nifty safety features that includes systems to protect an occupant’s ears and hearing during a crash and steering assistance to avoid an obstacle or accident, just to name a few. With the new features that will be incorporated to the car, and it’s still in its test-run stage, do you think it’ll be a hit for the market when it comes out in 2017?
