The focus recently shifts to the new Jeep Wrangler’s suspension and drivetrain developments which is rumoured to be an aluminium body on a steel frame. A fixed unit will be replacing the front windshield, as the old-style soft top will also be put away. The sport bar design is no longer used as it is replaced by an integrated substructure with at least four stressed mounting points.
Furthermore, there are several good reasons to remove the sport bar, or what is usually referred to as a “roll bar”. Besides letting the engineers to improve the aluminium or body for maximum rigidity, it allows FCA to address any changes in the NHTSA safety mandates. Additionally, the design will help to remove weight from the top and reduce the lower-body structural support. This will give the car a lower centre of gravity and benefit the users with fuel saving.
With all the modifications done to the new Jeep Wrangler, hard-core fans can have the opportunity to own one and see for themselves whether it is worth their money or otherwise.
