Japanese carmakers does not favour turbocharged engines but not for long. Honda has teased that the future Civics will be coming with turbocharged engines as a standard and this can be viewed as a bizarre move by the Japanese automotive firm.
In detail, Honda shared that the next-gen Civic will be powered by a 1.5L 4-cylinder turbocharged engine. Naturally-aspirated motors will also be offered but as an upgrade option.
The new turbo-engines will be developed at Honda’s new power plant in Anna, Ohio. Details are scarce on the sort of output that will come with the turbocharged 1.5L engines but more details will be revealed when the motor gets unveiled at the end of this year.
