It was always assumed to be an underwhelming car that provides literally zero enjoyment for car enthusiasts, but in 2017, we might get lucky because General Motors claims that their brand-new Buick LaCrosse will supersede previous expectations.
The Lacrosse will be seen to lose a lot of weight (jumping into the bandwagon as Cadillac CTS and Chevrolet Camaro, in the weight-loss regimen) and that it also uses a longer-wheelbase version of the Malibu’s Epsilon II platform. It will be losing nearly 300 pounds, making it lighter than the outgoing car. In terms of the engine, it’ll be about 305-horsepower and 268 lb-ft of torque; that’s just barely more than what the outgoing car mustered. On the exterior, it’ll be a recognizable as both a Buick and a LaCrosse, despite being an all-new model.
The interior is what matters most, and also most dramatic; stacking up well against the likes of Lexus and Infiniti, providing the feel of an almost-Cadillac experience. This would certainly give car enthusiasts a mixed reaction just by sitting in the car. Let’s just say that we’ll get all fanatic about this car and can’t wait to see how it fares in the market once it hits early next summer.
