Just recently, we received confirmation by Volkswagen on the production of the Golf R Estate. Now, the German carmaker has gone out to announce that the Golf R Facelift that was unveiled at the last Beijing Auto Show too will get produced.
Volkswagen revealed that the Golf R Facelift will be coming in 2016 and it will drive on the Haldex 5 AWD system. The car is towed by a L turbocharged engine that is mated to a 7-speed DSG transmission. In figures, the Golf R has 292hp to offer and this will ensure that it is able to accelerate from 0-62mph in 3.9 seconds.
Since the upcoming Golf R is going to be a facelift, it will also enjoy some changes to its design. Volkswagen revealed that the styling will be inspired by the 1989 Rally Golf where the exterior is coated in lemon yellow while the interior is mostly silver in colour.
