For the past decade or so, Toyota has been dominating the mid-sized pickup truck segment with the Tacoma. Now, things have changed after Chevrolet launched the all-new Colorado last year. It seems that there is no way to beat the Colorado but Toyota is not throwing in the white towel just yet.
The Japanese carmaker unveiled the Tacoma Facelift earlier today as they attempt to rival the Colorado on every front. For a mid-cycle refresh, the Tacoma looks very different. The vehicle features a chunkier face that is paired by LED running lamps and projector-beam headlamps.
The Tacoma is also equipped with electronically locking and limited-slip rear differential to ensure that it is capable of off-roading. While it is not really powerful, one can appreciate the hill-decent control that has a braking capacity of 1-5mph.
Of course, this is never enough to even challenge the Colorado. The Tacoma simply lacks in the field of technology and features. It seems that Toyota likes to keep things basic with the Tacoma hence the pickup truck will only appeal to the Colorado haters. Disappointing indeed.
