Mazda has made it no secret that they will be looking to launch five new lines of vehicles by 2016. It was revealed at last year’s Tokyo Motor Show, when CEO Masamichi Kogai teased on the future Mazda2, MX-5, CX-3, CX-9 and the successor to the JDM Premacy minivan.
As of today, only the Mazda2 has been released and development has already progressed for the CX-3 and the MX-5. The former is tipped to be unveiled early next year while the latter will look to arrive late next year.
On another note, Mazda is also developing the Mazda6 Coupe. It will sport the new Kodo design language and will come with two-doors. The Coupe will draw its power from a diesel hybrid powertrain but there has yet to be any details spilled on it.
The design however, looks promising. The new and improved Kodo design gives the Mazda6 Coupe a look that inspires confidence and performance. It hard to describe on how the Mazda6 will appear like but fans can still catch a glimpse of the car by looking at the Mazda Shinari concept. Many insiders claim that the Shinari will be the base model for the Mazda6 Coupe.
If this is true, then the Mazda6 is surely better looking than the BMW Z4. The latter is established as one of the world’s leading roadsters. The Mazda6, on the other hand, will get the SkyActiv technology, which is currently the best engine system in the world.
