There is a growing trend in the use of aluminium to develop a vehicle in the automotive industry and it seems that Lexus is the latest carmaker to pick up the style.
The luxury arm for Toyota revealed recently that the upcoming RX350 and RX450 facelift will both be coming with aluminium parts. In detail, the aluminium will be utilized for the SUV’s hood, tailgate and closures.
Lexus has decided on aluminium as it aims to drag the weight of the RX350 and RX450 down. This also suggests that the RX Facelift will be better optimized for power and more fuel economical when released.
Lexus also gave assurance that the aluminium used won’t make the RX Facelift less durable than the existing model. The carmaker claims that the aluminium is engineered to be as strong as conventional metals.
