Aluminium is a growing trend in the automotive industry as many carmakers are integrating the lighter metal with their vehicles. Lexus is no different as they have admitted to using aluminium to produce the RX Facelift.
The future SUV, which consists of both RX450 and RX350, will be featuring aluminium hood, tailgate and closures. The new material will drag the weight of both SUVs down thus improving power and fuel efficiency.
Of course, many worry that the aluminium option will make the Lexus RX less durable than before. However, Lexus assured the masses by claiming that their brand of aluminium is engineered to be as strong as conventional metal.
The Lexus RX SUV will be making its debut somewhere next year and prior to that, consumers can expect more reveals from the Japanese luxury carmaker.
