Kia has confirmed that the next-generation Sorento will be making its way to the LA Auto Show with orange taillights. Also, the large SUV will also come with chrome accents and chrome wheels. These minor visual changes from the original design are then revealed to be for the North American market.
Of course, Kia didn’t actually confirm that the changes will be made as a new standard but since it looks production-ready, we feel that it is likely to happen. Besides, the LA Auto Show that is a fortnight from now is bound to be the Sorento’s premiere in the American market.
The new set of chrome wheels us actually pretty decent for the Sorento. As a matter of fact, the metallic colour blends well with the white body. The orange rear blinkers however, are a major turnoff.
The orange colour looks a lot like red, which is already the colour of the brake lights. We understand that Kia is wishing for something different for the North American market but to make such unnecessary changes is nothing but a mistake. If the Sorento is to come with basic yellow indicators, then our complains wouldn’t even exist.
Regardless, the Sorento will be offered with 5-trim levels- L, LX, EX, SX and SXL. Under the hood, consumers can look forward to a 2.4L gasoline engine that will tow the vehicle.
