Special thanks to Kia for not increasing the price of the all-new Kia Optima Sedan. Yeap, you read that right. The price of the new model remains the same as before. Also, Kia undercuts most of its rivals, including Ford Fusion, Toyota Camry, Nissan Altima, and Honda Accord.
The car comes with five trim levels – SXL, SX, EX, EX 1.6T and LX. The Kia Optima SXL ($36, 615) comes with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four with the SX, SXL slathers the Optima in options. It has a 10-way power passenger seat, quilted nappa leather seats, adaptive cruise control, electronic parking brake, LED reading lamps, 18-inch wheels, and heated second-row seats.
The Kia Optima SX ($30, 515) comes with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four and 245 horsepower with the range’s sport variant. The SX adds a sport-tuned suspension, 18-inch aluminium wheels, paddle shifters, gloss black exterior rim, adaptive self-leveling HID headlights, red-painted brake calipers, and a rear spoiler. The interior comes with an 8-inch touch screen with navigation, metal trim, rear side-window sunshades, and a color screen in the gauge cluster.
The Kia Optima EX ($25, 715) goes back to the LX’s 2.4-liter four/six-speed automatic combo. It comes with LED taillights, 17-inch wheels, dual projector-beam headlights, dual-zone automatic climate control, 12-way power driver’s seat, leather seating surfaces, and two rapid-charge USB ports.
The Kia Optima LX 1.6T ($24, 815) switches the LX’s 2.4-liter four over a turbocharged 1.6-liter four and 178 horsepower. Its trim level adds 16-inch gray-finished aluminium wheels, acoustic front window glass, a leather-wrapped steering wheel auto, up/down front windows and shift knob, and pushbutton ignition with keyless entry. Also, the turbo is paired with a seven-pedal dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Last but not least, the Kia Optima LX ($22, 665) that includes a manual six-way driver’s seat, driver;s automatic down window, 60/40 split-folding rear seats, 5-inch touch screen, cruise control, backup camera, Bluetooth, Sirius satellite radio, chrome exterior trim, and 16-inch aluminium wheels. This model comes merely with 185 horsepower 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine and a six-speed automatic.
