For years already, the Jeep Wrangler has been continuously linked to be getting a diesel engine as an option but that has failed to happen. This is until one of Jeep’s partners, FCA, started to break the silence on the future Jeep Wrangler.
FCA’s Gabrielle Schulte stated that they do not comment on Future products. The rumor mill at this time hints that the next-gen Wranglers will be coming with the option of a 3L V6 EcoDiesel engine. The motor will be paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Such a rig is obviously aimed at reducing the fuel consumption rate of the Wrangler, which has been a pain to existing Wrangler owners.
Of course, this is based on rumors. There is no telling for sure at least until Jeep unveils the next-gen Wrangler. If it is true, then fans of the Wrangler can look forward to extreme torque levels coming from the EcoDiesel Wranglers.
