2016 Jeep Wrangler Facelift: What New Upgrades To Expect

The Jeep Wrangler has long served the world as one of the best 4×4 in history and in a couple of years from now, the vehicle is going to get updated with a new model. While it may be too early to speak, we have compiled some of the hints on what the next-gen Wrangler has got to offer.

For starters, we could see the new Wrangler coming without solid axles underneath it. The feature has been utilized by every Wrangler in history and it is somehow too old to meet today’s demand. Instead, it will be replaced by IFS suspensions to ensure a more flexible grip on or off the roads. Besides, the solid axle has its own sets of problem.

Another major update to the future Jeep Wrangler is with the engine system. The Grand Cherokee enjoyed a major success with the new 3L Ecodiesel motor. As such, we can expect the next-gen Wrangler to come with a similar powertrain.

Perhaps, the latter could improve on the VM Motori HR428 DOHC 2.8L pushing 161 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque or the A428 2.8L punching out 197 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque to serve it in the future. Of course, there is no indication on the Wrangler to pick up the diesel trend but we do hope for Jeep to at least offer one diesel mill with the vehicle.

Since the Wrangler is touted as a massive off-road machine, it should at least come with an electrical air pump. This way, drivers won’t face a problem if their tyre gets punctured when being out in the open wild.

Also, the next-generation Wrangler is surely going to be lighter than before. Jeep might not admit that they are interested in improving fuel efficiency and power optimization for their vehicles but the latest Renegade already spilled the beans. As such, the next-gen Wrangler will also adopt a similar characteristic.
