The Pilot SUV is possibly the largest vehicle ever produced by Honda and soon, it will be updated with a totally new model. Well, the world can already take a good look at the next-gen Honda Pilot as spy shots of the vehicle has already been leaked online.
At a glance, the first thing we noticed when analysing the spy shots is that the Honda Pilot is built on the same platform which was used by the Acura MDX. This is pretty obvious with the extra overhand and the longer roofline. Heck, it even ensures that there will be plenty of space for the third-row seats.
Another thing we noticed is that the Honda Pilot adopts a boxy structure. The front portion saw a new set of headlights in place and they are clearly taken from the latest Honda Accord. The taillights, on the other hand, remain the same as the existing model.
Under the hood, the Honda Pilot is expected to be powered by a 3.5L V6 that operates on both the FWD and AWD system. In addition to that, Honda might also offer a V-6 motor that is paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission like how it is for the Honda Accord.
In short, the upcoming Pilot can be said to be a Honda Accord that is morphed into a gigantic SUV. The Honda Pilot will be making its debut in 2016 and we can expect to hear more news when we get closer to its release date.
