Running on the 2.3L 4-cylinder turbocharged EcoBoost engine, there is no doubt that the next-gen Focus RS will be a really powerful hatchback when released. The vehicle will look to sit above the Ford Focus ST and will be in a hot competition with the Volkswagen Golf GTi.
While this may sound exciting, rumours are creating a ruckus when they claim that the Focus RS won’t be coming to the US due to the availability of the Lincoln MKC and the Mustang. The word is that Ford has a lot of performance vehicles already and adding the Focus RS to that will be bad for business.
Well, these rumours should be thrown in the bin. After all, there is no way for Ford to not release the Focus RS in the US. The Focus badge is already a national icon and denying it from a performance model is a grave crime.
Besides, Ford has been very aggressive and they have made bad business decisions with other vehicles but they never sold away their passion to make the best cars around. So don’t expect the Focus RS to miss out on a local release.
