Rumours are rife in claiming that the next-gen Ford Focus RS will not be making its debut here in the US when it gets released at the end of this year. This is because of the availability of the EcoBoost-powered Lincoln MKC and Mustangs that sees no need for another Ford performance vehicle.
While the rumours might have a point, their prediction can be disregarded entirely. This is because the Ford Focus RS will definitely get released worldwide, including here in the US. The Focus is one of Ford’s bestselling vehicles and it is only fitting to see the RS model coming out to symbolize the greatness of the hatchback.
The Focus can easily be considered as a national icon and not seeing the RS model debuting in the US will be an act of disgrace. Besides, Ford has been very aggressive when it comes to launching new vehicles and they won’t change this for the Focus RS.
When the sports hatch arrives, it will be sitting above the Focus ST trim while also being powered by the newly-developed 2.3L EcoBoost engine that generates a whopping 350hp.
