Ford has already made it clear that they are producing the next-gen Focus RS and it is going to be more powerful than the Focus ST. In addition to that, Ford teased that the Focus RS will be the first car to come with a Drift Assist feature.
Heck, there are many things we already know about the Focus RS but not its performance figures. Apparently, Ford has been very secretive on how powerful the Focus RS will be and today, we are going to clear some of the air on this for you.
For starters, you need to be aware that the Focus RS is powered by a 2.3L EcoBoost engine while being driven on the AWD platform. The first ever Ford’s press release on this powertrains revealed that a total of 316hp will get produced and this allows the RS to accelerate form 0-60 in less than 5 seconds.
Then again, that press release was made so long ago and it is unlikely to come true. The Focus RS will be succeeding the existing Focus RS500 and it is supposed to be better than its predecessor. The latter has 345hp top offer and we expect that to be the case for the upcoming RS as well.
Of course, there is no way we can confirm on this but we believe that seeing the future Focus RS coming out with no less than 350hp is a safe bet. Then again, this still needs confirmation from Ford.
