It was previously indicated that the upcoming Ford Focus RS is going to draw power from a newly developed EcoBoost engine. In figures, the Focus RS is expected to come with 300hp but Ford has failed to confirm on this at the Geneva Motor Show.
The American carmaker promised to tell it all at the ongoing annual motoring event but instead of doing so, they were relatively quiet with the Focus RS. When questioned on the horsepower of the sports hatch, Ford were lost for words before uttering 315hp.
This is a worrying sight as many view the EcoBoost technology as a revolutionary engine that provides the best power from little petrol consumption ever. If the Civic Type-R does have more power to offer from its VTEC engine, what will be the fate of the EcoBoost motors then?
The Focus RS already tick every box for being beautiful but the power figures still remain a mystery to us all. Perhaps, Ford is buying more time so that they can further give the Focus RS more power boost.
