Ford has already confirmed that they are currently producing the next-gen Focus RS and it is bound to make its global debut before the end of this year. When the Focus RS arrives, it will be powered by a 2.3L EcoBoost engine with 350hp to offer.
This may sound exciting but there are still some sectors in the public that remained unconvinced for the Focus RS to make its debut in the US. This is because of the overcrowded EcoBoost segment that is already populated by the Lincoln MKC and the Mustang.
Sure, it may be bad for business if Ford launches the Focus RS but the carmaker will still release the vehicle in the US regardless. This is basically due to the Focus badge which is already considered as a national icon. Not seeing the Focus RS released in the US will somehow tarnish Ford’s image as a passionate carmaker.
Obviously, this is something Ford wishes to avoid. Besides, Ford has been relatively aggressive in recent times so they will launch the Focus RS in the US regardless if it is bad for business or not.
