The Ford Focus RS is about to get refreshed with a new model coming out this year and it will be running on the newly developed 2.3L EcoBoost engine that promises more than 315hp of power output.
It was about a month ago when rumours were rife in indicating that the next-gen Focus RS won’t get released to the US and this is solely because of the overpopulated performance line-up from Ford. Well, this is not surprising at all since Ford still have the EcoBoost-powered Lincoln MKC and Mustang.
Even so, Ford will still launch the Focus RS here in the US and this was confirmed recently when the carmaker revealed that the Focus RS will not be excluded from any countries. Some may think that this is a bad business decision but they have to understand that Ford is a passionate carmaker and not a company that only makes decision based on business forecast.
Besides, this is the Focus RS that is getting released. The Focus is one of the world’s bestselling hatchbacks and it truly deserves a performance trim getting released.
